At The Ebenezer, new ideas meet timeless, classic technique, with an unexpected modern menu, surrounded by chic decor with sophisticated service in Downtown Plymouth. The Bartender is an integral part of the team and are responsible for executing set standards of service and making sure our guests have the best possible experience at the bar. The beverage program at The Ledger features innovative craft cocktails. Along with a full bar offering we will have a modern menu.

  • Are you passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences and providing top-notch customer service? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! The Ledger, a brand new restaurant located in the heart of downtown Plymouth, MI, is seeking friendly, skilled, and motivated individuals to join our team as Servers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Greet guests warmly, providing detailed menu information.

    • Take accurate food and drink orders, upselling to enhance the dining experience.

    • Ensure prompt and precise service, collaborating with kitchen staff.

    • Attend to guests' needs, clearing and resetting tables efficiently.

    • Handle transactions accurately and maintain a clean work environment.

    • Stay updated on menus, promotions, and special events.

    • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations.

    Requirements:

    • Previous server or customer service experience preferred.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure.

    • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.

    • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

    • Professional appearance and a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Our Bartenders:

    • A desire to grow their knowledge and craft

    • A strong passion for hosting and cultivating an incredible guest experience

    • Consistently care about the smallest details

    • Are energetic team players

    • Adhere to recipes and standards

    In addition to the above, we look for people that possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the role. However, we are always willing to train anyone with the right attitude and desire to grow, as you can't teach hospitality.

    • 1+ years of bartending experience, preferably in a high volume or fine-dining setting.

    • Ability to prepare and serve beverages to guests according to recipes and knowledge of standard cocktails.

    • Stock/restock appropriate areas of the bar with alcohol, glassware, ice and supplies.

    • Understands the importance of measuring and consistency.

    • Effectively service a full bar top, service rail or assigned station per shift.

    • A general understanding of Food, Liquor, Wine and Beer - with a passion to continue a higher level of understanding on all of these subjects.

    • Ability to follow and execute steps of service.

    • Understanding that we are curators of experiences, not order takers.

    • A drive to be organized.

    • Ability to maintain menu knowledge - including allergies, restrictions, modifications etc.

    • An understanding of anticipatory service.

    • Capable to understand and solve problems with a calm and collective demeanor

    • Understand the importance of community outreach and contributing to the neighborhood

  • Our Bartender Assistants:

    • Restocking Bar essentials and maintaining cleanliness at the bar

    • Resetting the bar with the proper items in a timely manner.

    • Filling and refilling waters for service.

    • Polishing flatware, glasses and restock.

    • Juice/Prep needed items for the Bar.

    • Deliver Food/Drink to Guests in accordance with Heirloom Standards.

    • Assist the Support Team where needed.

    • Understand the importance of community outreach and contributing to the neighborhood

    • Must understand the importance of consistency and care ALWAYS.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to restaurants standardized recipes.

    • Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives.

    • Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels.

    • Maintain food safety and quality standards.

    • Ability to read a thermometer correctly and efficiently.

    • Communicate any food delays or issues to your Line Chef.

    • Maintain menu item counts and communicate to Management and service staff when quantities fall below restaurant specific minimum quantity.

    • Accurately account for all items coming out of the station.

    • Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.

    • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.

    • Get along well with others and be a team player.

    • Other duties will be assigned as needed.

  • Our Dishwashers:

    • Washes all wares including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwashers.

    • Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.

    • Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.

    • Cleans trash receptacles with water or steam.

    • Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks.

    • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.

    • Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
